School-Age Summer Kid’s Club

Registration begins April 1, 2014/Program begins June 2, 2014

It’s hard to believe, but the school year is almost over and summer will be here.  The staff at Sullivan Preschool is beginning to prepare for our summer program.  Children who have completed kindergarten and those entering the sixth grade are eligible for enrollment.

Sullivan Preschool offers a program, Summer Kid’s Club, which encourages children to stay engaged/challenged/and active during the summer months while school is not in session.  Opportunities are provided to explore and develop skills in a fun, noncompetitive and safe environment by incorporating interactive projects through games, sports, music, drama, technology and more.  These activities help children to continue to grow and retain knowledge from the school year.

Kid’s Club has a lot to offer…for you and your child.  For parents, there is peace of mind that your child will be safe, well cared for, and entertained.  For children, they are part of a group that keeps them connected with their peers, while learning and having fun at the same time! During the program, children will be involved in many different activities including field trips, projects, guest speakers, outdoor/gross motor activities, reading programs and gardening, to mention a few.  There are many different learning centers to choose from throughout the day. These daily activities provide a variety of options and are both teacher and student directed.

During the summer program, children are provided 3 meals a day; breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack.  Sullivan Preschool will also provide sunscreen for your child for outdoor play.

Enrollment for the summer program will begin on April 1, 2014 and the program will begin on June 2, 2014.  For more information, please contact the center via the information below.

Child Care Assistance is also available for those who qualify.  Applications are available in the office.

Tuition assistance reminder

Remember that tuition assistance is available for working parents who meet certain income guidelines. Parents who are attending school and also working 10 hours per week may also be eligible. Parents attending a vocational training program may be eligible without the work provision. The total gross family income must be within the approved guidelines.

Sullivan Preschool participates in a federally funded child care subsidy program provided through the Department of Human Services. These funds are available to eligible families to help pay the costs of child care. Through this subsidy program, eligible families have a portion of their child care expense billed to DHS with the remainder paid by the parent as a co-payment. This is a means of greatly reducing child care fees charged to eligible families.

Inquire at the office or call (217) 728-7511 for information regarding the current income guidelines for eligibility for child care subsidy.
